What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is simply a state of deep physical, mental and emotional relaxation; although you do not need to be relaxed to be hypnotised. It is the natural brainwave state we all experience daily, just before we wake and just as we fall into sleep.
Being hypnotised, is the act of taking someone, via a formal induction process, visualisation and relaxation deepening techniques, down through their brainwave cycles until they reach this state, referred to as the "Theta" brainwave state.
Here, as hypnotherapists, we can then access and work with the sub-conscious mind to bring about extensive, rapid and long-lasting change.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Unlike traditional forms of therapy that only work with the conscious mind, Clinical Hypnotherapy works with the sub-conscious mind to locate the "root" cause of problems and deal with them on a sub-conscious level. As a result, the "conscious symptoms" being suffered by a client, are often removed quickly, effectively and usually... permanently!

Your conscious mind is your intelligent mind, but it's ONLY 10%. Whereas your subconscious is 90% and FAR MORE POWERFUL! If you think of your mind as a computer, your conscious mind would be your desktop and your subconscious would be your hard drive. It's where all the memory and programs are stored, and when you want real change- you have to change things in your hard drive. And that's what we do as hypnotherapists.

The other way hypnotherapy works, is by implanting lots of positive suggestions for change, and because ultimately your sub-conscious mind is responsible for keeping you healthy, safe and alive, when we tell it things that are only going to contribute to doing this, your sub-conscious mind will generally take those things on and run with them for you!
A Hypnotherapist is a bit like a detective or investigator but one who works in your subconscious mind, looking for the root causes of any outward symptoms that may be holding you back in your life. We are also like very positive “champions” for your subconscious mind – implanting lots of positive suggestions for change!

Clinical hypnotherapy uses suggestion, regression and integration therapies to find, neutralize and remove deeper underlying emotional and psychological problems, often entirely; and is a much quicker, easier and far more successful approach in dealing with so many of the issues people face today. In fact, a study analysis conducted by Alfred A. Barrios, Ph.D. found hypnosis to have a 93% success rate, with fewer sessions needed, than both behavioural therapy and psychotherapy.
